The Fourth Turning is one of the most interesting books that I have ever read.  The book does a downright spooky job of showing how we are basically living in seasons of time.  Each season of time must inevitably lead to the next season of time and there seems to be very little that one can do about it.  Now, at first, this really sounds like a bunch of, as our ancestors would say, tomfoolery or malarkey.  However, these gentlemen do such an amazing job of showcasing example after example of this happening time and time again that I would say you would be a fool to dismiss it without serious consideration.   

This book is extremely detail oriented.  It is not an easy book to read.  In my case, some of that had to do with me putting the book down for a minute so I could process the information that I had just read.  But mostly it’s because the book is, as Marty McFly would say, heavy.  Now I don’t want to sound to down on this book because I did love it.  It’s even something I could see being taught in college history classes.  So if you have any interest in the prospect of history being cyclical in nature than this is the book for you.
