Andrew Klavan’s When Christmas comes is murder mystery wrapped up in a Hallmark card.  Or maybe it’s the other way around?  It’s about a man, with a set of special skills to coin a phrase, who comes to help his ex with her current case.  She’s a lawyer who is defending a man who murdered his wife.  But for some reason, something seems off but she can’t quite put her finger on what it is.  

The book is an extremely easy read and a fairly short book.  However, I found it to be way too easy to predict.  Which kind of takes the fun out of the mystery part.  The characters were fairly good.  He does an excellent job on the imagery.  The main character has a lot of unexplained backstory left to keep you wondering about but overall is very likable and relatable.  If you’re looking for a Christmas themed murder mystery than this is the book for you.
