What makes Freedom a cornerstone?
Freedom is backbone of real progress. If we look back through history, despite any progress made poverty was still rampant throughout the world. Until, that is, Men were given Freedom to pursue their own dreams. Freedom allows people to put their talents to where they are best suited. It also gives men the ability to think and try out new ideas. This leads to great progress for everyone.
Why is this important?
If we aren’t allowed to present different ideas, even bad ones, no real progress can be made. We need to be able to present different solutions to problems and have the Freedom to try them out. Without Freedom, or innovation, societies and civilizations stagnate and then eventually collapse. Also without the Freedom to choose how we want to live our lives we can not find the place we are best suited to be to make a difference.
How does this relate to the country?
This country was founded on the idea that you have the Freedom to pursue your happiness as long as it doesn’t infringe on the rights of others. They did their best to ensure that the right of the individuals and their Freedoms come first. That’s why they set up the government the way that they did. That’s the underlying theme behind the Bill of Rights. You are Free to say what you want, be with whom you want, and worship the way you want. You are Free to be able to defend yourself, your loved ones, and your property. Etc.
What can I do?
Be Free. The best thing you can do is live your life Free. Grow your own food. Carry a gun and be prepared to defend yourself. Be flexible with your work. Teach others how to be Free. Celebrate the ideals this country was founded on. Educate yourself and then pass that on to your children. Learn your history, travel the country so you can see what other Free men were able to accompish before you. This country was founded on Freedom. Love it and live it.
